A popular base

The urbanization Villamartin has turned out to be a fixture along the Costa Blanca South. It is, therefore, one of the best-known areas in Orihuela Costa. In addition to Spaniards, many British, French, Scandinavians, Belgians and Russians reside here.

When you visit Villamartin, you don’t feel as if you are staying in urbanization. This is also the case in many other resorts in Orihuela Costa. But because of the many different developments of residences, a real atmosphere of a village or a municipality has been created.

It is a large village, and has several pleasant commercial centers. There are several places where you can find delicious food. The most famous is the Villamartin Plaza, located in the heart of Villamartin.

During the day, it is a great place to enjoy a refreshing drink in the Spanish sunshine. In the evening you can eat out under a starry sky and afterward dance until the early hours.

Villamartin Golf

Villamartin Golf was designed in 1972 by Paul Putman. It is an 18-hole, par 72 course which is very challenging to play. The first 9 holes are at the highest point of the golf course and offer beautiful views thanks to the hilly nature of the landscape. The second 9 holes are located in valleys with ravines. Precision is especially important here.

In 1994, Villamartin hosted the Mediterranean Open. This was won after an exciting match (against Paul McGinley) by Jose Maria Olazabal.

Excellent infrastructure

Without a doubt, relaxation and good food are important. But this village has a lot more to offer. We have mentioned before that there is a good infrastructure and it is very extensive.

There are several access roads that connect with urbanizations in the area, such as Los Dolses, La Zenia, Punta Prima, Lomas de Campoamor, San Miguel de Salinas, …

Attention has also been paid to school-age children. The immensely popular school “El Limonar” is located in Villamartin. Here, children from 3 years up to 18 years can follow an international, bilingual education.
